Hayne and Patsy wedding rehearsal August 23, 1957

walking down the aisle.  My brother Bill was acolyte.  When he saw me he burst into hysterical laughter.  I WAS wearing high-heeled shoes.
On the left are birdesmaids Frances Evelyn Atwood, Kay Vanderpool and maid of honor Quay Williams. On right beside Hayne is his best man, Gene Lewis, and his brothers John and Tommy Reese.
On the left seated is my mother Ann Atwood.  Seated on the right are Tom F. and Marian Reese, Hayne's parents.

School Days and school pictures

Aren't they good-looking kids?  They were all smart, too, and made good grades.  Did I say?  Their teachers all loved them.  At least in elementary school.  Finally in 1970 we left Buffalo and moved back to Texas.

For a while we stayed at the Atwoods' in Mineral Wells, until I took a decorating job at Sears in Fort Worth and rented a house for us there.  It was at 4404 Wabash, in southwestern Fort Worth.

Anne starts elementary school

Anne started school (kindergarten, actually) after 3 years of nursery school at the University of Buffalo nursery school.  So did Bill, and so did Margaret.  It was a really nice pre-school run by the education department at the University.  Then in 1965 Anne went to elementary school.  The first year she was picked to be in a picture in the neighborhood paper with a paper bunny that her class had made.

Wasn't she a beautiful little girl?  We were certainly proud of her.  She was smart, too, and all her teachers loved her.

Somebody's Birthday

I am not sure whose birthday it was, but we were at my mother's house in Mineral Wells; I can tell by the sofa fabric.  The party hats are terrific!!

Sorry Anne was looking down, but she had fun I am sure, and looked beautiful as usual.

Our Duplex on Harlem Road in Buffalo, 1968

We are on the steps in front of our duplex on Harlem Road.  The white dog in the picture above is Lily.  She belonged to the people across the street who were good friends of ours.  My dad TR came to visit one time on his way to some trade event for his business.  I was very thin (that's me on the right) and I was working as a decorator for William Hengerer Department Store which I enjoyed a lot.  But I sure missed being home for the kids.

The Horsey Swing 1943

This picture with Bill on the horse swing is from 1943. It was Easter and he was about 7 months old. I am on the left and Mother on the right.  I was four and a half years old.

That swing was really something.  It was really my swing, given to me by Uncle "Watt" Frank Atwood, Daddy's middle brother who lived in Tyler.  He had made one for my cousin Frances Evelyn (his little girl) and decided to give me one just like it.

The horse swing was made of wood lumber which had been sanded and painted.  It had four ropes with foot pedals as well as hand bars as you can see, so it could be pumped with hands and feet together to go quite high.

I don't remember this dog.  But I do remember at one time we had two dogs named "Butchface" and "Cookie"  and they would eat out of each others' bowls.
