His three sisters all outlived my father….and lived into their 90's. Sitting in a swing on a summer
day around 1990. Ernestine (married to Hipp Arthur) was eldest. Alma (right, with the bright smile) was next, and Ruth was the youngest. She was a couple of years older than Thurston, my father. He was the youngest Atwood child, born in 1914.
Don't forget to post I took the snapshot! The occasion was a formal sitting for Bob with his black-and-white hand-made camera. I bet Cleve or one of the girls might have the photo Bob made...it was about 14 x 22 and Alma had it on her dresser. I don't think Ernestine or Mom (Ruth) got one. He was in front of them, and while he was setting up his camera I caught their attention and snapped with my Minolta. I was only concentrating on getting Dorothy the dog to look my way...that is why Alma was laughing at me. Ernestine was a cat lover not a dog lover, so she was NOT amused! (Remember her strays? Especially the black skinny one she called "Poor Lil Thing"?
